For people who love writing

The meeting on Tuesday, 11th August at The Hydro Hotel, Eastbourne, starting at 7.30pm.

Anderida Writers is a small and friendly group, open to writers of all levels and ages.

What we do for members:

·        Help you to get published, or simply improve your writing skills

·        Arrange monthly meetings and social functions

·        Invite guest speakers

·        Arrange workshops

·        Give regular critiques

·        Hold two annual competitions

·        Arrange for actors to read competition entries

·        Promote members' books on stands at festivals and events

·         Give advice to those who want to write for fun

Silverton Gets Gold

At the Anderida Writers Annual Short Story and Poetry Competition on Tuesday, 21st July, John Silverton was a double winner. His amusing entry, ‘The Bicycle’, helped him scoop the first prize of £60.

In the poetry competition, his entry ‘From Sunflowers to Love’ tied with Dennis Stidder’s ‘A Life Worth Fighting For’.

Actors Brian Capron and Sue Thacker expertly read and delivered the entries, contributing to an entertaining evening. The votes from members and eligible guests were totalled during the break, allowing Brian to present the prizes during the second half of the evening.

Congratulations to everyone who entered, and special thanks to Francis Wait, whose organisation made sure the competition was a success.
